I was raised in Hong Kong and moved to the United States in 1985, where I attended Woodside Priory high school located in Portola Valley, California. Following high school I attended Stanford University, where I graduated with Distinction in Biological Sciences and Economics in 1991.
After college, I attended UCSF dental school with my wife Dr. Sheila Tan and graduated in 1995. I then completed a four-year Master program in Prosthodontics with Distinction at the University of London (UK) and was personally congratulated, by invitation, by HRH Princess Royal. Since my graduation, I have further my training in all aspects of dentistry through numerous continuing education courses and trainings. Currently, I am an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
I now practice and teach dentistry in both United States and overseas. My practice is focused on reconstructive and implant dentistry.
